Thank You, Next...

We’ve all been in situations that have taught us love, patience and/or pain and in the end, we grew to value and love ourselves more and appreciate the good in the experience. Whether the situation is a platonic relationship, friendship, life transition, or “failure” in business. With that in mind, I’ve taken a moment to reflect on some personal experiences based on the lyrics in the song.

Ladies, Tell Me you Can Feel Me...

There are more women than men and even if you are okay with polygamy- I personally am not but do you baby do you- everyone can't be the first wife or even the main wife, and please don't get me started on the glamorized mistresses and accepted side chicks. And for those of us who aren't down with experimenting, if you get my drift....well, honey you do the math.

Fallen from Glory?!

I didn’t think I had fallen from glory at all. In fact, I felt like I was walking IN the glory and everyone around me couldn’t see it nor let me live. Such a selfish way of thinking and further proof that I wasn’t quite where I thought I was. And if you know me, you know I am nowhere near the 'Hillary Banks' type of girl but I digress.

7 Ways to Protect your Peace

Life has its ways of just shaking you up and it’s not always pleasant. I know that in my life, I have had my own experience with depression dating back as far as elementary school. Of course, I didn’t know it was depression back then but I know now how serious it was. However, I am grateful that I was offered different avenues to keep my mental and emotional health intact. Some of these opportunities or ideas were not intentional but they still helped. So here are my 7 ways to help protect your peace.

In the Mirror...

I glared into a mirror, maybe for 20min picking out all my flaws and reminding myself of things I didn’t like. I would beat myself up because I didn’t look like those girls in music videos and my hair wasn’t perfect like those girls on Instagram.

What Does Your Patience Look Like?

Patience is that one area where we can always practice and improve on. This has been a HUGE theme for me throughout the past year. I've been been tested in the areas of employment searches, friends, relationships + dating, and my own self-abilities + skills. The constant rejection, not receiving the results I wanted, and daily life revelations and own experiences and hearing other positive stories helped me come to grips with needing to improve and increase my patience.

Why I Regret Quitting My Job

In 2014, I decided that just like many of my peers, that I was going to quit my job to follow my dreams. I had been working since I was 15 and a half and this was definitely something new for me but I was determined that I was going to prove everyone wrong and was going to become a successful artist because I had just that much faith.

I Don't LIKE Her!

...Leaving the relationship didn’t heal the self-hatred and I realized that when it resurfaced in my next relationship. One night I found myself going through my next boyfriends phone and unfollowing someone beautiful on his facebook and when he asked why I replied with, "I just don’t like her."

POWER OF ME| It’s Okay to be “Too Much”

I wanted to be accepted by the accepted. So I boldy asked Keisha a question. She told me to "shut the f*$% up, my man is trying to sleep." Man did that make me mad! What made it worse was Victoria coming behind her and teasing me saying, "haha don't nobody want you or want to talk to you hahaha." It carried on the whole bus ride. It was the longest ride ever....

POWER of Preparation

Many of us have dreams and goals that we are working hard to achieve and make them come to fruition. Many times we focus on the start and finish and try to take time to enjoy the process, which is great. BUT how have you prepared before you started? Planning is great but preparation is even better.
