Destiny Owusu

How did you get started in your industry?

I honestly started from just traveling a lot for leisure and creating content on my social media platform.

Growing up, did you imagine being an entrepreneur?

Destiny Owusu

I honestly never thought of being an entrepreneur. I always thought I would be some type of doctor. Funny how the tables have changed.

In the beginning stages of developing your brand/business, what was your biggest struggle and how did you overcome it?

My biggest struggle was trying to obtain clients. When starting a new business, you have to remind yourself that you have to promote 24/7. I overcame this by consistently traveling and posting content attaching my website so people can use my services.

Do you feel like you are pursuing purpose? If so, how did you know this was your purpose?

Yes, I do because I realized how much I enjoy planning trips for people, and it didn’t stress me out. I’m a planner by nature, and I would make itineraries just going on trips with my friends. I didn’t even notice how well I planned trips until a friend was vocal about it and told me I should make it into a business. So I turned a hobby into a career, and I have no regrets.

Please tell us about, Oh-Destinations?

I plan trips for people. I research and find housing options (Airbnb’s or hotels), create lists of restaurants/bars to go to, excursions, provide COVID information, and a detailed day-to-day itinerary if needed.

What is the best part of Oh-Destinations? What keeps you motivated to keep going?

The best part of Oh Destinations is making sure every client has the best trip of all time. I respond in a timely manner and help with last-minute changes quickly. Traveling keeps me motivated to keep going. There’s so much the world has to offer, and I want to experience it all. I want to show my future clients how everyone can experience the world through my content.

As an entrepreneur myself, I understand that sometimes personal life can get in the way of business. Have you encountered any personal hurdles that could have or did result in a business pivot?

I haven’t encountered any personal hurdles in my business thus far.

During these times, we’ve all had to adjust. How was this adjustment been for you and your brand?

Well, I started my business right before the lockdown. So you can say my business is a pandemic baby. It’s been a true blessing and highlight of my year.

What’s the most important piece of advice you could give to a young woman just starting her career?

Just go for it. Write out a plan and execute that plan. Time waits for no one.

Lastly, what keeps you struttin?

God, my family, friends, and my self-confidence.
